Prior to AltLab, Ralph was a Director in the BlackRock AI Labs and the leader of one of its three vertically integrated product teams. In this capacity, Ralph provided strategic direction for the team’s major products and provided oversight over its research and implementation functions. Prior to joining the AI Labs, Ralph held software engineering and analytics positions across BlackRock and spent nearly ten years at the firm in total. Ralph holds an engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania, with a double major in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Prior to AltLab, Kunal completed a PhD in Aeronautics & Astronautics at Stanford University focused in model-based reinforcement learning and artificial intelligence. After his PhD, he spent three years as a research scientist and vice president at the BlackRock AI Labs. There, he lead a research team that used techniques from optimization and machine learning to build frameworks for alternative asset underwriting and portfolio construction. Kunal holds double Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Engineering from Claremont McKenna College and Harvey Mudd College.
